Reports: Executive Director’s Reports by Topic

212 Stuart St.

February 15, 2006 I attended a public meeting as part of the BRA’s Small Project Review for this building on the edge of Bay Village. Prior to the meeting I spoke with the geotech engineer ad later with the developer. They have agreed in writing to modify their foundation design to eliminate underdrains, using a fully waterproofed slab. They will also install an observation well in front of the project on Shawmut Street.
March 22, 2006 This project is likely to be substantially modified because of objections raised during the Article 80 process. I’ll continue to monitor it to make sure that the promised elimination of foundation underdrains occurs.
June 5, 2006 The project presented revised plans at a public meeting that I attended on June 1. They have committed to meeting the requirements of the GCOD, although the recharge is a challenge because the building will extend to the lot line. They will have no construction below the groundwater level and no underdrains.
