| I will be sitting down with Para Jayasinghe on Nov. 5 to bring him up to date on what has been happening with the Trust. Para has been the first to raise groundwater issues at the BRA scoping sessions that I have attended and has made it clear that groundwater depletion must be prevented. |

| I met with Para Jayasinghe, City Engineer, who has promised to make groundwater an important department priority, as instructed by Commissioner Cassaza. Para has consistently raised groundwater as an important issue during BRA project scoping sessions. |

| Christian and I met with City Engineer Para Jayasinghe and his staff to review potential solutions to the problem of damage to our observation wells during sidewalk construction projects. We have worked out a system that we believe will enable us to prevent the vast majority of the damage caused by contractor’s not knowing to protect our wells. We believe that the plan will not put any significant strain on City or State agencies or on contractors (or the Trust). |

| Initial results of the new system that will let us know about planned sidewalk work are encouraging. Hopefully, this will eliminate well damage that has been a problem during past sidewalk repair projects. |
