Funding

July 19, 2005 The City has sent us the first installment of our FY06 funding ($94,500 includes $12,000 for FY05). Jim Hunt was able to get $50,000 in FY05 money from the State EOEA, which was added to the EBB funding contract and allowed us to fund some of the items that originally had to be cut from the FY06 budget plan. The US EPA has awarded the City a $192,400 FY05 matching grant "to continue its efforts to address lowering groundwater levels in certain Boston neighborhoods". This money is likely to flow through the Trust after consultations with Jim Hunt and David Chin of EPA.
August 23, 2005 The $50,000 from the State for capital projects has been received by the City and has been approved for issuance to the Trust. We should have the money imminently.
October 11, 2005 We have received the $50,000 for additional capital projects from Environmental Bond Bill funds committed at the end of the fiscal year. The funds were used for the website update, level logging equipment, and replacement roadway box covers. As part of its mitigation commitments, The Clarendon project has committed $75,000 for funding for the Trust.
November 17, 2005 We have received the final funding from US EPA for the 114 well contract. Once again, MEPA and EPA did a great job of expediting payment.
January 11, 2006 I have invoiced for the remaining $71,000 in operating funds from the City for this fiscal year and expect to receive it shortly. I will also follow up with BWSC about a contribution; they operate on a calendar year.
February 15, 2006 We received the $71,000 from the City that completes their operating funding commitment for this fiscal year. I still expect to hear shortly from BWSC on a grant to match those provided in other years. We have begun work on the budget process for FY2007.
March 22, 2006 We are still awaiting the $25,000 contribution that we expect from BWSC. In addition, the Columbus Center project has committed to making a $25,000 contribution and the Clarendon project has committed to a $75,000 contribution, both expected after the projects get building permits; these contributions will pass through the BRA. Our Long range Funding Committee has been meeting to discuss how best to assure the funding of the Trust’s activities over the extended future.
April 27, 2006 The BWSC Board has approved a $25,000 contribution to BGwT for 2006. We should receive the check within a week. The City Council has received the Mayor’s budget that includes full funding for our request for FY2007; as of now, it does not look like any of the Environment Dept requests will be subject to a hearing, and there should be no problem with the request at the Council.
April 27, 2006 The BWSC Board voted last week to approve a $25,000 donation to the Trust. We should receive the check within a week. Funding from the Columbus Center and Clarendon projects will pass through the BRA after the projects get their building permits.
June 5, 2006 Full funding for the Trust for FY2007 was in the budget that the Mayor submitted to the Council. There has been no indication that it will not be included in the final budget adopted by the Council, and several councilors have spoken of their appreciation of the work of the Trust. We received the $25,000 check from BWSC for a one time grant for 2006.
July 17, 2006 The City is closing out its books from FY06. It should be clear shortly how they want to proceed with our funding for FY07 and whether it will come in one piece or be split. The funds are in the budget as adopted by the Council.
September 20, 2006 We have received a check from the City for the full amount committed to the Trust from the City budget for FY2007.
July 31, 2008 I have signed our FY2009 contract with the Environment Department. We should receive our annual funding, including the inflation adjustment from FY08, shortly. As always, I appreciate the efforts of the Mayor and City Council to meet our funding needs.
August 29, 2008 Our FY09 contract with the Environment Department has been approved by the City. I have invoiced for the funds and expect to receive them shortly.
September 25, 2008 We have received our FY09 funding from the City, including the inflation adjustment from FY08.
October 19, 2010 We have received our Fiscal Year 2011 funding from the City. The Trust was level funded from FY2010, allowing us to continue with all of our work.
September 22, 2011 We have received our FY12 funding from the City. Thanks to the Environment Department for making sure that everything happened smoothly.
