| Christian and I met with Eleanor Duffy of MWRA at the Union Park St pumping station, a meeting set up by Don Goldberg. We reviewed the readings on the wells that they have been monitoring on and around their site since the projects inception. Christian read the wells, and MWRA has agreed that we can read them during our regular cycle, incorporate them into our network, and publish the results. For the wells located on site, this is temporary permission, pending a permanent approval from BWSC, who own it. |

| The MWRA has gotten pricing to repair the two leaks in their 18" line along Porter Street in East Boston. They will be using different technologies at the two leaks, but repairs should be under way fairly soon. |
| January 18, 2007
| The repairs to the East Boston sewers were completed on Dec. 19. Hopefully well see an improvement in the readings currently under way. |
| February 15, 2007
| The MWRA repairs completed in December have not yet led to an increase in groundwater levels in East Boston. We will continue to look for causes. |
| October 25, 2007
| The MWRA remains on target to begin construction on their major CSO project in East Boston by summer. When this project is complete, virtually their whole system in East Boston will be new. The existing pipes in the area near Porter Street will be abandoned and filled in. In the interim, they will conduct another television inspection in the area of Porter and Bremen Streets. They will be looking to see if the repairs done last year are holding up and if there is another potential cause for the extremely low groundwater levels at that location. |
| January 31, 2008
| The MWRA will perform additional video inspection of their sewer lines at three locations in East Boston where readings remain low: Bremen and Porter Streets; Porter and London Streets; and Maverick and Frankfort Streets. They will repair any leaks that show up. Work is scheduled to get under way this summer on their court ordered reconstruction of their sewer system in much of East Boston. |
| July 31, 2008
| MWRA has awarded the largest of the three contracts involved in redoing their sewer system in East Boston. The third and final contract will be awarded before the end of the year. They also continue to look for and, when found, repair leaks in their sewer line under Porter Street; this line will be discontinued and filled in when the new project is completed. |
| October 27, 2008
| They will be conducting a television reinspection of the sewers near Porter and Breman Streets in East Boston within 3-4 weeks. They have made earlier repairs in this area, but these have not been sufficient to substantially raise local groundwater levels. Their major construction project in East Boston is going through the drawing review and utility relocation phases; substantial construction should start around the area of Condor Street within a month. |
| January 29, 2009
| Construction has begun on their project to replace their sewer system in East Boston. As part of this work, they will deactivate and fill the sewer along Porter Street that is in the area of consistently very low readings; the pipe should be filled before the end of 2009. |

| MWRA construction work on replacing their sewer system in East Boston continues. They will be doing some open cut work near the intersection of Breman and Porter Streets that will allow further inspection and possible repair to any leaking infrastructure near that very low groundwater area. The old sewer along Porter Street will be discontinued next spring. They will be inspecting connections along the Boston Marginal Conduit in Back Bay to check for possible leaks. |

| MWRAs construction work on their major project in East Boston remains on schedule. The pipe under Porter Street will be discontinued and plugged in 2010. MWRA has conducted additional television inspection of their pipe under Breman Street near the low point at Porter Street, but they have found no additional leaks. |

| MWRA will complete the East Boston sewer replacement project this summer. At that point, the possibly leaking old sewer pipe along Porter Street will be discontinued and filled in. They have discovered a leak in the siphon under the Blue Line at Breman Street. They will be lining the two pipes as an add to the sewer project, with completion of this expected this summer as well. |

| MWRA has completed their replumbing of the sewer system in East Boston. The pipe along Porter Street was removed from service and filled in during September. We have seen substantial increases in the very low groundwater levels along Porter Street and Visconti Road, especially west of Breman Street. |
